Background

This fun celebration started more than twenty years ago in June 1995 by two men Ol’ Chumbucket and Cap’n Slappy (formally known as John Baur and Mark Summers) their aim was for people to dress and talk like pirates and generally have a fun time doing it!

It’s a day of fun but can also be a good excuse for everyone to raise some money for charity as well…what could be more perfect!

Taking part is easy whether it is at school, work, coffee morning, nursery, in a shop just make sure you remember your eye patch, toy parrot and stripy trousers and a chest full of treasure and you’re good to go!
