If you are lucky enough to be born between June 21 and July 22 you will know that you are born under the astrological zodiac sign of Cancer.
Cancer is the fourth of the 12 signs of the zodiac which begins its cycle at the start of summer during the Cancer season.
In astrology, Cancer is the cardinal sign of the Water trigon sharing this love with the other two zodiac signs Scorpio and Pisces.
Though some depictions of Cancer feature a lobster, the sign is most often represented by the crab, based on the Karkinos, a giant crab that harassed Heracles during his fight with the Hydra.
As far as astrology goes Cancer is one of the most challenging horoscopes to get to know. For anyone lucky enough to be born in this sign it is said that they are deeply affectionate and passionate and care wholeheartedly about important matters such as family and home. Those born with their sun in Cancer are also very sympathetic and loyal and can sympathise with other people’s suffering and pain.

Dante, a famous Italian poet in the late middle ages, even made reference to the Cancer sign in his Paradiso, the third and final part of Dantes Divine Comedy writing:

So that, if Cancer one such crystal had,
Winter would have a month of one sole day.

Like all the signs of the Zodiac Cancer is extremely interesting and with its link to water makes it that extra bit special!
