Working with The Only Way is Essex!
We were just reviewing the work we have done with ITVb and TOWIE over the last 2 summers. It was a truly amazing experience to design and make a custom tail for Bobby Norris for the opening episode of the new season last year. He looked mer-mazing and really wowed the crowds and the media attention was fantastic! We have all the magazines and newspaper articles and really do feel proud to have been part of the show. We loved the fact that Bobby recognized the on trend mermaid movement sweeping the nation back in 2015 "mermaids are so on trend right now". Bobby the wise merman! We were over the moon when the producers contacted us again to ask for more Planet Mermaid pieces for reality TV stars Chloe Meadows and Courtney Green. We supplied our MerPlanet Leggings in Starbright Princess and the Frozen Aqua. Both mermaids looked spectacular and used the Mahina fins purchased from us. They took to the water as professional mermaids! We all do believe that Miss Chloe Meadows really is a mermaid and we loved seeing her mermaid inspired Halloween costume and look forward to helping the fantastic staff and stars of ITVb and other media related opportunities. What's in your fin? Ours has Magic!
We thought we would tell you a little more about the 'Magic' in our Magic Fin. The one piece (monofin) designed and made in the UK with mermaid safety in mind is the first manufactured neoprene monofin in the UK. It really is a premium quality swimming aid. The specially designed socks are fantastic to help mermaids have a 'quick release' and are designed for foot sizes UK 11 up to UK 6. As opposed to other monofins available that have strap related fixings that tend to have no 'quick release' method in place we feel the Magic Fin ticks the safety aspect full force. Not only is it lightweight and flexible it has specially designed groves and raised features on its insert to provide a smooth unified movement for the swimmer. The Magic Fin has been through vigorous testing and we are satisfied that it is the leader in the field of neoprene covered fins in the UK. The socks are a great length that go above the ankles and support the swimmer with propulsion through the water. The Magic Fin insert is flexible, highly durable and virtually indestructible. Above all safer in waters as opposed to other neoprene product monofins that use materials such as perspex and poly-carbonate. These types of inserts (perspex and polycarbonate) are dangerous and can shatter on impact. Please be sure to avoid any monofin with this material. They are easy to spot - the insert tends to be see through or a thin sheet of plastic. As a reputable organisation we have gone to great lengths to provide our mermaids with a safe durable insert that provides a pleasant and fulfilling exercise that promotes fitness and well being. Our flexible insert can withstand great pressures and at the same time is so lightweight that it truly is a match made in heaven for a mermaid swimmer. It's a wonderful day here at Mermaid HQ! We've launched our new Magic Fin monofin that we feel is totally awesome. Planet Mermaid in EastEnders!
How wonderful that one of our 'original' tails appeared on a recent episode in EastEnders. The very talented and gorgeous actress Luisa Bradshaw-White aka Tina Carter from the infamous Carter clan was stunningly dressed in an opulent headpiece and our nationwide favorite 'Frozen Blue' mermaid tail. The scene was set - she was draped across the kitchen table at the EastEnders studio with an array of shellfish and a stunning glittering tail. Unfortunately the scene ended with the little mermaid not jumping for joy, well it is EastEnders!! However she looked super in her Planet Mermaid tail! We are very happy to dress the UK talent on British TV and have worked closely with organisations such as Lime Pictures, ITV, BBC and a variety of corporate events for awards ceremonies. Of course the only way is PLANET MERMAID!!!! I'm sure Bobby Norris from TOWIE would agree as he looks fantastic in his Planet Mermaid made to measure swimming tail. He made a strong impact in a recent episode of Towie that aired in the Summer of 2015. We have worked with various professional organisations assisting with events and coordinating high end products for display, promotion, tv, film and leaders of marketing know that nothing quite hits a spot like a mermaid! (even a tattooed merman can look stunning dancing on the decks of Marbella). The magical creatures are so spectacular that seeing them swim is a real treat. We have supported and dressed mermaids worldwide and love what we do :) We recently supported an awards ceremony for Celebrity Cruises in London. How do you swim like a Mermaid?
Do you dream of being able to breathe underwater like a real life mermaid? Do you wish you had a tail like Ariel’s and could dive down into the deep blue sea? Well now you can – we’re going to show you how you can learn to swim just like a mermaid and make it look natural, like you belong in the water. You might have seen videos of real life mermaids who look so elegant gliding through the water. When you have legs like a mere human, it’s not that easy! So here are some steps to transform you from a water baby into a graceful mermaid: Learn the motions – so try swimming just with your body and arms, keeping your feet together. You can even try a flip if you like. Now try those swimming techniques with a Monofin or some Flippers on – this will feel a bit different as they will help you glide through the water. Now it’s time to add the Mermaid Tail ! Moving in these may feel strange at first as your feet will be bound together. When you know you can swim properly as a mermaid, it’s time to try and make it look pretty! Here’s a video explaining the steps, use it to get ideas for different mermaid movements you can try in the water. As you can see, it’s also a good idea to get friends to help you out! The Little Mermaid is amazing because it gives an insight into a world we can only dream of – the deep blue sea. What little girl wouldn’t want to be a mermaid and have underwater adventures?! We’ve pulled together some of the main reasons why you need to re-watch this mermaid film which made everyone want to live ‘under da sea’! Important lessons Disney movies are renowned for teaching children the ways of life. Whether it’s to follow your own path in life like Pocahontas, there’s always something to learn. One of the most important lessons in The Little Mermaid is to follow your dreams, however impossible they may seem. Ariel never thought she could live above the water but her dream eventually came true. Mermaid hair Out of all the Disney heroines, there’s no doubt about it – Ariel’s hair takes the crown. It’s so thick and lovely, and most of all it’s bright red. How many Disney princesses have red hair?! This makes Ariel really relatable to red haired girls all over the world and proves they can be just as beautiful as blondes or brunettes. Something for everyone Some Disney films can be a bit girly and don’t appeal to a wide audience – but this film isn’t one of them. While Ariel’s love life is the centre of the plot, the baddy is the scariest baddy in the whole Disney archive and there’s sharks, seagulls and plenty of other wildlife to capture attention. Not only do these girls get to dress up like mermaids and swim through the water with the wildlife, they also perform choreographed routines for audiences and take visitors diving with fishes and sharks.
